Proposed Planning Scheme Amendment

This proposed amendment aims to facilitate the future redevelopment of 9 holes of the Eastern Golf Course, adjacent to the Royal Pines Resort. It also supports the broader vision to revitalise the remaining 18 hole golf course, enhance the resort and unlock new opportunities for Precinct activation.

Precinct Plan

The scheme amendment will create a new precinct. While the masterplan for the new precinct is yet to be designed, the Scheme amendment facilitates the potential for:

• New, well-located housing to help meet the region’s critical supply needs.
• Enhanced resort and lifestyle amenities, improving connectivity with surrounding urban areas.
• Green links and active transport corridors connecting Ross Street, Cabana Dog Park, and the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, further integrating the site into the community.

The new precinct will allow for maximum building heights ranging from 4 storeys up to 25 storeys, which aligns with the existing height limits.

The Nerang River and Ross Street interfaces are preserved by appropriate setbacks, as determined by the relevant authorities.
